Production History

DGR's design has not appeared but it and the window were made in 1861. The window is “among the earliest made by the Morris firm” ( Sewter, DGR's Designs for Stained Glass, 421 ).

DGR stayed at the Heatons' home Woodbank for a month in November 1861 when he painted Mrs. Heaton's portrait. The old farmhouse is at Harden, near Bingley, Yorkshire. DGR must have made the design for the stained glass earlier that year.
